Accessibility statement

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. Every change to the website is checked automatically, and keyboard use is tested. If something gets in your way, email [email protected] with the page and the problem, and we'll help you get the information another way.

We want everyone to be able to use this website and Autonomy Care, including people with disability and people who use assistive technology.

What standard do we aim for?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What do we do?

  • Every page works with a keyboard, with a clear focus outline.
  • Pictures and screenshots have text descriptions.
  • Pages use clear headings, labels and plain words.
  • Forms explain what went wrong and how to fix it.
  • Movement is reduced if you've asked your device for less motion.
  • Some topics have Easy Read versions.

How do we check?

Each change to the website is checked automatically against WCAG 2.2 A and AA with axe, and keyboard use is tested on the main pages and menus. Automated checks can't find everything, so we also listen to the people who use the site.

What isn't perfect yet?

  • Screenshots of the product show small text. The description next to each one says what it shows.
  • Some downloadable templates are Word or PDF files that may not work well with every screen reader. Email us and we'll send another format.

How do I tell you about a barrier?

Email [email protected] and tell us the page and what got in your way. We'll reply by email and help you get the information another way while we fix it. If you're deaf, or find it hard hearing or speaking, you can contact us through the National Relay Service.
