Team collaboration

Handovers that get read

Team collaboration in Autonomy Care covers the handover from one shift to the next, a shared task board, and team messaging. A worker leaves a handover at clock-out and the next worker acknowledges it. Tasks have checklists and comments and can be linked to shifts. Team channels keep conversations with the work.

How do handovers work?

When a worker clocks out, they can leave a handover. The next worker for that participant or house sees it before the shift and acknowledges it. Recent handovers also show on the participant's and the house's page.

How are tasks shared?

A task board shows each task's status, with checklists and comments. Tasks can be linked to a shift, so the worker sees them on the day.

Where do teams talk?

In Messaging: team channels, groups and direct messages, on the web and in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Who sees a shift handover?

The next worker for that participant or house sees it before their shift and taps to acknowledge it. Recent handovers also show on the participant's and the house's page.

Can we @mention someone in a task or channel?

No. Tasks have comments and checklists, and teams use channels and direct messages in Messaging.

Can a task be linked to a shift?

Yes. Link a task to a shift and the worker sees it on the day.

How it works

  1. Hand over

At clock-out, a worker leaves a handover for the next person.

  2. Acknowledge

The next worker for that participant or house reads it and taps to acknowledge.

  3. Track

Tasks on a shared board, with checklists and comments, linked to shifts.

  4. Talk

Team channels and direct messages for the rest.

Who uses it

  • Support workers

  • Team leaders

  • Coordinators

  • Tasks and checklists

Tasks keep follow-ups out of inboxes and sticky notes. In Autonomy Care, the office uses a task board with statuses, checklists and comments, and tasks can be attached to a shift so the worker sees them on the day. Some tasks are created for you, such as a plan review before a plan ends.

  • Attendance and clock-in

Attendance records when workers start and finish each shift. In Autonomy Care, workers clock in and out from the mobile app or the web, with optional geofencing that warns or blocks outside a set radius. Late or out-of-area clock-ins are flagged for review, and you can require a note or participant signature at clock-off.

  • Messaging

Messaging keeps conversations about participants inside a secure system. Autonomy Care has direct and group messages between staff, team channels, and conversations with family contacts who have full Family portal access. Messages can carry attachments, saved replies speed up common answers, and admins can export conversations for audit.
