Tasks and checklists

Tasks and shift checklists your team can see

Tasks keep follow-ups out of inboxes and sticky notes. In Autonomy Care, the office uses a task board with statuses, checklists and comments, and tasks can be attached to a shift so the worker sees them on the day. Some tasks are created for you, such as a plan review before a plan ends.

Part of Rostering and service delivery.

What can a task include?

A title, a status on the board, checklist items and comments. Tasks can also be linked to a shift, so the worker on that shift sees them.

Are any tasks created automatically?

Yes. The plan review automation creates a review task when a participant's plan ends within 60 days. It is on by default, and you can turn it off.

Can workers see their tasks on their phone?

Yes. Workers have their own task list in the mobile app and the Frontline Center. Shift tasks show as a checklist on the shift, on the Now card (the next three open tasks and a count) and in the note editor. Ticked tasks are added to the progress note, such as "Done: Shower support." Ticks work without signal and send when the phone reconnects.

What it does and doesn't do

It does

  • Gives the office a task board with statuses
  • Attaches tasks and checklists to shifts
  • Shows shift tasks on the worker's Now card and in the note editor
  • Keeps comments with the task

It doesn't

  • Isn't a general project management tool
  • Doesn't create shift tasks from the support plan; coordinators set them
  • Doesn't replace your incident or complaint processes; those have their own modules

Frequently asked questions

Can I give workers a checklist for a shift?

Yes. Attach a task with checklist items to the shift, and the worker ticks them off on the day.

Do tasks show in the mobile app?

Yes. Workers see their own tasks in the app. Shift tasks show on the shift, on the Now card and in the note editor, and ticks work without signal.

Can tasks remind us about plan reviews?

Yes. The plan review automation creates a task when a plan ends within 60 days. It is on by default, and you can turn it off.

Can the team discuss a task?

Yes. Each task has comments, so the history of a follow-up stays in one place.

How it works

  1. Create a task

Add a task with a checklist, or attach it to a shift.

  2. Work the board

Move tasks across the board as they progress, and comment to keep the history together.

  3. Do it on shift

Workers see their tasks for each shift as a checklist on the shift, on the Now card and in the note editor, and tick items as they go. Ticks work without signal.

Who uses it

  • Coordinators and office staff

  • House leads

  • Support workers

  • Rostering and timesheets

NDIS rostering software schedules workers against booked supports while checking availability, credentials and plan funding. In Autonomy Care, each shift carries its support item, so the roster, timesheet and invoice stay in step. Templates, open shifts, swaps and private calendar feeds cut down the last-minute phone calls.

  • SIL house management

SIL house management keeps each supported independent living house with its residents, house lead and settings. Autonomy Care builds the house roster from a template, reports times when residents are home with nobody rostered, splits shared support time across residents for billing, and records handovers so the next worker sees what happened.

  • Participant management

Participant management keeps everything about a person in one record: their NDIS plan and funded services, goals, contacts, plan manager, support coordinator and support requirements. Rostering, progress notes, billing and the Family portal all read from that record, so your teams don't keep separate copies that drift apart.
